What is EcoVadis?
EcoVadis is the world’s biggest independent supplier of business sustainability ratings. It serves as an indicator of how seriously organisations take environmental and social sustainability management throughout their supply chains.
It’s not an audit based on self-reporting. It is a rigorous evaluation based on data, covering four areas: the Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Marks vary from 0 to 100. Only those firms that reach certain marks receive medals.
What does a Bronze medal mean?
The Bronze medal signifies that sustainability is an integral part of our business operations. It’s based on actual proof rather than good intentions.
Stephenson’s EcoVadis result
In our first rating, Stephenson received 67 out of 100 points — putting us in the 72nd percentile of all EcoVadis-rated businesses worldwide. It means we ranked above 72% of companies in each sector evaluated on the platform.
Our highest ranking was Environment at 78/100, placing us in the top 13% of companies in our industry. This high ranking is the result of many years of focused effort to create credible emissions numbers, monitor energy/carbon intensity monthly, and give weight to our environmental claims.
A second area where we excelled was Sustainable Procurement, ranking us among the top 23% in our industry.
